Discover Credit Cards
Discover Card was originally introduced by Sears in 1985 and is one of the four main credit cards in use today. Most cards are issued by Discover Bank. The
Discover Card rose to high popularity mainly because of its no annual fee and higher credit limit than competing cards. The cash back bonus was also a feature of the card at a time when no other cards were offering such enticing deals. Also, the Discover Card was the only credit card accepted by the U.S. Customs Service to pay customs duty. GE Consumer Finance bank currently issues the Discover Card to retailers such as Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Since 2005, Discover Card has also won the ability in court to offer debit and ATM cards. Although not accepted at as many retailers as VISA or MasterCard, the Discover Card has more than 4 million merchant and cash access locations.
